Case Studies: Hitachi Data Systems

The Challenge

Hitachi Data Systems purchased Stellent as their new content management system. They needed assistance in transitioning their robust web development team into a Stellent web publishing team. Becuase of the size and scope of their web projects, Hitachi Data Systems relied heavily on standards, templates, procedures, and testing structure to produce their sites. With the new Stellent system, they wanted to transition many of their development practices into solid Stellent development practices.

The Solution

Online Vitality worked directly with their web development team to devise and author a series of policies and procedures for administrators, sub administrators, and contributors in Stellent. We also worked with developers to understand their existing development process and provided suggestions, documentation, and training for creating new Stellent-specific standards.

Once these procedures were in place, Online Vitality worked along side the Hitachi Data Systems development team to create several web publishing projects. This allowed the Hitachi Data System team to learn the new procedures quickly as well as pick up several useful tips and tricks along the way.

As a final study, Online Vitality presented a variety of possible templates and Stellent features that could be integrated into their existing extranet, intranet and internet sites. These ideas were later implemented by the Hitachi Data Systems team.
